7 vitamins to bring when traveling with fruit

Traveling can be great. It can bring you adventures, new memories, and…exposure to lots of germs your family may not have immunity against.

The changing of routines, eating foods that may be less than nutritious, and staying in unfamiliar places can be stressful. It can take a toll on you and your kid’s physical, emotional, and mental health. So supporting your immune system while traveling is a definite must!

Between enclosed airplanes, car rides, and visiting the sights to see, being proactive and having healthy essentials on hand can help keep your itinerary running smoothly instead of scrambling if an illness hits.

Even if you’re NOT traveling, these are still some great supplements to have on hand, just in case.

Can I Bring Travel Vitamins When Flying?

Thankfully, Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA's) rules for traveling on a plane with pills and tablets are pretty relaxed. As in, you can pack an unlimited amount of the solid, gummy, or soft-gel kind for traveling!

You can keep your vitamins for traveling in your carry-on or check-in bags. If you have temperature-sensitive items, it’s best to keep them with you in your carry-on!

They do want liquid vitamins and supplements to be sealed in a quart-sized airtight baggie. If they are going in your carry-on bag for traveling, the liquid must be in a 3.4-ounce (100 ml) container. Any liquid volume larger than that needs to go in your check-in bag.

But gummies, gel capsules, and solid pills do not have to be bagged currently. They don’t even have to be in the original manufacturer’s package. You can use pill organizers and other containers, just make sure the vitamins be protected from moisture while traveling.
